Thank you for this helpful post. It’s amazing how much power such little things can have on us—and without our knowing it! Your post reminded me of one of my own:

That's why, if you want to live a calm life, it's paramount to never watch the news! Their objective is to make every problem YOUR problem.

This is such an important topic, Giacomo. Such a testament to the importance of our physical environment and the messages we get from it. Carefully planning what we see around us can shape how we feel for sure. I love the experiment you shared. This makes me feel better about my inspiration wall in my office (song lyrics I love) and my collections of natural objects like river rocks, natural wood, glass, plants to bring the natural world into my home. It calms me and priming is powerful!

What are some of the lyrics you put on your office wall? I’m curious now!

Get ready — they are cheesy, but they sure influence my days:

lyrics from the Turtles: “Happy Together”

Cindi Lauper’s: “True Colours”

The Beatles’: “All you Need is Love”

“You are My Sunshine” — I used to sing that to my kids every night

Bill Withers’: “Lean on Me”

Joe Cocker’s: “You are So Beautiful”

John’s: “Imagine” (Of course!)
